Disclaimer

This app is not a medical, dietetic or pharmaceutical service and does not replace consulting a doctor. Nothing in it — recipes, calorie and macro figures, allergen labels, AI suggestions, nutritionists' meal plans — is medical advice, and none of it should be the sole basis for dietary decisions, especially with allergies, intolerances, chronic conditions, during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or when feeding children.
If you or someone close to you has a food allergy, always check every product's own packaging yourself. Relying on the app's labels for that is life-threatening.
1. What the AI actually does here
The App uses large language models from a single provider, Google Gemini, for:
- Generating a recipe from a description — the model invents a recipe from your prompt;
- Extracting a recipe from pasted text or a screenshot;
- Suggesting a weekly meal plan — the model picks from recipes you already have;
- Photo moderation — automated checking of images for unacceptable content.
AI output is always saved as a draft for you to review — precisely because it needs checking rather than trusting.
2. AI gets things wrong — that is expected behaviour
Language models produce plausible text, not necessarily true text. They may:
- invent a non-existent recipe, ingredient, technique or source;
- get proportions, temperatures or cooking times wrong;
- give culinarily or hygienically unsafe advice (undercooked meat, fish or eggs; unsafe preserving; incompatible ingredients);
- fail to mention an allergen that is in fact present in the dish;
- misread a screenshot — confusing digits, mixing up units (grams ↔ millilitres), skipping a line;
- suggest a dish that conflicts with your diet, allergies or health condition, even when that data is set in your profile.
Read every generated or extracted recipe in full and verify it before cooking — particularly cooking temperatures and times for animal products, and storage conditions.
3. Calories and macros are an estimate, not a measurement
Calorie, protein, fat and carbohydrate figures are computed automatically and are a rough estimate. Sources of error:
- values come from an internal directory of averaged per-100 g data — a specific manufacturer's product can differ by a wide margin;
- not all ingredients are counted: the App honestly shows «counted N of M» — the rest have no directory data or are specified in pieces or millilitres;
- converting pieces and volume to weight uses approximate density or per-piece weight (a separate warning appears on the recipe page when this happens);
- losses and changes during cooking, oil absorption and residue left in cookware are not accounted for;
- the directory is filled in by users and may contain mistakes.
These numbers are not suitable for medical diets, insulin dosing, clinical nutrition, sports nutrition, or anything else requiring accuracy.
4. Allergens — critical
Allergen labels are generated automatically by matching ingredient names against a directory. This is a helper hint, not a guarantee. A label may be missing when an allergen is present, and vice versa.
- the directory does not know every product, brand or formulation;
- a manually typed name («sauce», «filling», «spices») says nothing about actual composition;
- cross-contamination during manufacturing and trace allergens are not accounted for;
- AI-generated or externally imported recipes are not composition-checked at all;
- substitutions you make while cooking are unknown to the App.
With any food allergy or intolerance, the only reliable sources are the specific product's label and an allergist's advice. The Administrator accepts no liability for allergic reactions of any severity.
5. Expiry dates and food safety
«Best before» dates, expiry reminders and «in stock» status are your own notes, not the result of inspecting anything. The App does not know how a product was actually stored, whether it was opened, frozen or has spoiled. Do not rely on reminders to decide whether something is safe to eat — go by the packaging, look and smell.
6. Barcode data
Product names and brands are pulled from the open Open Food Facts database. This is third-party, community-maintained data: it may be incomplete, outdated, wrong, or refer to a different version of the product. Composition and allergens are not imported from barcodes and are not verified.
7. Nutritionists and other users
The «nutritionist» feature simply grants another user access to your nutrition data and the ability to build meal plans for you. The Administrator does not verify the qualifications, education, licences or good faith of such people and is not a party to your relationship with them. Meal plans and advice obtained this way are the advice of a private individual, who is solely responsible for it — not the App.
Likewise, recipes added by other users are not vetted by the Administrator for safety, accuracy, or compatibility with anyone's dietary restrictions.
8. Imported recipes
When importing from a link or from text, the App merely transfers data from the source without verifying it. Responsibility for the content stays with the source's author; responsibility for the consequences of using it stays with you.
9. Automated photo moderation
AI image checking is probabilistic: both false positives (an acceptable photo rejected, an account temporarily limited) and misses (an unacceptable photo left up) are possible. The existence of this check is not a guarantee that all content in the App is safe or acceptable.
10. What you should do
- Read generated and imported recipes through before cooking.
- Check product composition on the packaging — always, where allergies are involved.
- Follow generally accepted food safety practice (cooking temperatures, storage, shelf life).
- For questions about diet, allergies, illness, weight, or feeding children, pregnant people and the elderly — consult a doctor or a certified dietitian.
- At any sign of an allergic reaction or food poisoning, seek medical help immediately.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Administrator is not liable for any consequences of using information from the App — including harm to health, allergic reactions, food poisoning, the effects of diets and meal plans, property damage or lost profit — regardless of whether that information was generated by AI, added by another user, imported from elsewhere, or computed automatically. All information is provided «as is», without warranty of accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose.
Information in the App is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease or health condition, and has not been evaluated by any public health authority (in Ukraine, the EU, the USA or elsewhere).
This Disclaimer applies only to the extent permitted by applicable law: it does not exclude liability that cannot be excluded (including for intent or gross negligence) and does not affect mandatory consumer rights you hold under the law of your country of residence.
